Program Performance from the Outside Looking In
Course: BB12
presented by
Bonnie K. Baker
Sometimes we just don't have time to change program code to improve performance.
There must be something applications developers can do outside of program code to
improve response times and shorten run times. This seminar covers the impact of BIND
parameters; data organization; index, table, and tablespace design; DASD placement;
bufferpool issues; data and RID sort space; scheduling; and the phases of the moon on
program performance. Bonnie will use analogies, war stories, and lots of illustrations
to give you a "from the trenches" map for improving program performance.
